Overview

Critical Hit Reviews is a blog dedicated to reviewing the latest films and games (Perhaps even other items such as TV or comics in the future). I’ll consider whether or not somethings a critical hit, and if it is I can guarantee it deserves your attention. I’ll also be covering news that interests me as well as offering the occasional opinion piece. I’m a one man blog, so I’ll be reviewing as many things as I can, but if you’d like me to review something specific then please feel free to message a request and I’ll try my best.

The Critical Hit Rating

Not only will I give all my reviews a final rating out of 10, I will also determine whether its a ‘Critical Hit’ or not. The critical hit scale consists of these ratings in ascending order of acclaim:

Critical Miss – Miss – Hit – Critical Hit

Critical Miss – This is the lowest of the low, something that just isn’t worth your time.

Miss – Not great, but not all bad. Could be worth catching if it interests you.

Hit – A definite success that’s worth looking at, especially if you’re interested.

Critical Hit – The best of the best. Something everyone should see, unmissable if you’re interested.

Something that’s important to note is that the Critical Hit Rating may not always line up with the score. For instance we’ve all seen films that we enjoy personally, but can fully understand that it has its flaws. In this case these flaws would be reflected in the rating out of 10, but its ‘Critical Hit Rating’ would reflect its importance to its target audience. So a film might only score 5/10, but I could also consider it a ‘Hit’ or ‘Critical Hit’ if its flaws are worth overlooking for its target audience.

One Last Thing

I have to remind people though that all of the reviews written here are my opinion and my opinion alone. Whether you agree or disagree, I’d love to hear why. Most of all don’t take my reviews as fact, they’re opinion. I’m trying to offer advice on what to check out, but I’d never want to stop somebody from seeing something they’ve been interested in seeing (Unless its truly bad that is, a Critical Miss if you will). After all the most important review of all is your own.
